Ph.D program of Sociology:

in August 2004, our institute established the doctoral program, focusing on cultivating PhD students’ professional academic research and teaching abilities. Through rigorous training in solid theories and diverse research methods, along with strict doctoral qualification examinations and dissertation research, we support students in conducting various types of research. Graduates of our institute’s doctoral program possess professional capabilities in at least two subfields of sociology and the ability to conduct independent research.

Since 2018, initiated by the Institute of Sociology at Academia Sinica, our institute, along with the Department of Sociology at National Taiwan University and the Department of Sociology at National Chengchi University, jointly organize the “Public Issues and Sociology” doctoral program. By incorporating the academic resources of Academia Sinica and offering courses collaboratively among multiple universities, we integrate existing domestic sociological resources to collectively nurture sociology doctoral students.
